Pumpkin Patch 2014

The weather (it was about 45 degrees when we left the house at 10am-BRRR!) made it feel a bit more like we should be going to pick out a Christmas tree instead of pumpkins, but we still had a good time yesterday during our annual pumpkin patch outing.  I guess Liam felt like it was Christmas too, because when we pulled up he started looking around and asking where Santa was (it's the same farm we went to last year to get our tree, and Santa was there for that...good memory, that kid!)

As I mentioned in a previous Favorite Finds Friday post, I had snagged a groupon a few weeks back for Fall Fest at Reilly's Summer Seat Farm.  $10 got the whole family a hayride to the pumpkin patch and a bunch of activities.

Even though we got there right when it opened, we had to wait just a bit to get on the hayride.  The kids amused themselves in line by....being themselves.

Then it was time to take off!!

Both boys got a kick out of the hayride itself:

I snapped this shot on the hayride just because I thought it was funny....a pair of boots in a sea of sneakers :)  #boymama

We already had a ton of pumpkins at our house (thanks, Nana and PopPop!) but we told the kids they could each pick a little one for their rooms.  Liam was on a mission to find the "most baby pumpkin of all" (translation: the smallest in the patch)

After that, it was time for the fun and games!  The boys really loved the giant hillside slide, the corn maze and the haunted house.  Warning for anyone who goes here: if the kids are under 7, they require a parent to go through the haunted house with them. Since the haunted house involves a few slides and Brian's arm is still out of commission, the parent escort was me by default. All was well until I got stuck in a slide semi-sideways (the fact that Liam insisted on going down on my lap probably wasn't helping anything) and I hit my head on at least 3 fixtures throughout the haunted house.  Also, I must be getting old because the room with the strobe light made me feel like I was going to vomit.

Back to the fun!

Hope you're enjoying fall!!
