If You Were Here by Jen Lancaster
I'm a big fan of Jen Lancaster's other books (Bitter is the New Black, etc....) which are all memoirs, this is her first fiction book. I wasn't sure if I would like it, since I'm used to her sarcastic writing about every day life, but I was pleasantly surprised! I probably liked it so much because it read almost exactly like her other books; sometimes, I forgot that I wasn't actually reading about the author's life, that these were all made up characters and a fictional story (which, I'm sure that more critical readers would actually point out as a flaw, but I was ok with it) The book was also full of John Hughes references, with a big emphasis on Sixteen Candles, so that scored some bonus points from me. Definitely an easy and humorous read!
